Flow Measurements

Performance of the ventilation system

The following performances of the ventilation system are determined by measurements and by the aid of a pressure-compensated air flow meter. (Figure 1 and 2)

Regarding the ventilation flow rate we measure the supply and / or discharge.The ventilation flow rate is established for the various modes of the ventilation system of all air supply-and exhaust valves. In addition, the flow rate of a possible receiving hood is measured at its highest level. This, however, is not added to the total air flow capacity of the ventilation system of the residence. The measurements are performed according to the method described in NEN 1087 (as prescribed in the BRL 8010).

The survey aims to answer the following questions:

  1. What are the most common deficiencies of the ventilation system (regarding design, implementation, maintenance and use) in new homes withbalanced ventilation?
  2. What are the most common deficiencies in the ventilation system (regarding design, implementation, maintenance and use) that may occur in newly built homes withnatural supply and mechanical ventilation?
  3. To check the adjustment report of the installer?
  4. Installation noise level: The installation noise level is measured in the various modes of the ventilation system. These measurements are performed in the living room, master bedroom and a possible second bedroom. The background noise level is also measured (ventilation off). The method of measurement is based on the method of BRL 8010.
